Not sure if this was the game itself, Wine, something with my GPU/drivers, or maybe I had a spike in system activity. I say for the most part, because there was times where the entire game would hitch/pause for about a half a second, and then I would fail. I had the Shader box unchecked in options, resolution at 1024x768, FPS at 120 (menu and game), and I was able to play just fine for the most part. I first did a 32-bit arch of Wine, installed dotnet20, did gdi and fonts, started osu! installer and let it fail, backed up the osume.exe file, started installer again (makes desktop shortcut I think), ran osume.exe, started osu! I also was using Gnome Classic with no effects. Was able to play osu! on Ubuntu 12.04 圆4 + AMD Catalyst 12.8 + latest version of Wine (1.5, or whatever is listed on the site), without much issue at all.
